Upcoming Field Trips with Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society

The following field trip events are coming up for the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society
May 12,Saturday – Onderdunk Road Field Trip: Meet at the Stewarts store in Sharon Springs at 5PM. On this trip to a wetland we will look for bitterns, rails and snipe. There may be some easy walking over wet ground. For further information please contact ; Bob Donnelly at rsdonn@yahoo.com
May 13, Sunday- South Hill State Forest Field Trip: Meet at the Pine Lake parking lot in Davenport at 8:00AM-noon.  We will start out looking for ducks on Pine Lake and continue to South Hill State Forest looking for a variety of returning songbirds. May 17-Thursday- Jean Miller Memorial Wildflower Walk at Gilbert Lake State Park: 10:00AM-noon. Meet at Beach area for an easy walk. We will look for spring woodland wildflowers along the trail around the lake. For more information contact: Barbara Marsala at (607) 988-7805

May 6 – Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway Field Trip

May 6 – Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway Field Trip: Delaware-Otsego Audubon. View returning birds along this beautiful Greenway in Oneonta. Trip led by experienced birders, Charlie Scheim and Sandy Bright. Easy hike .

Lake Otsego Waterfowl Trip – Sat., 4/7/12

DELAWARE-OTSEGO AUDUBON SOCIETY’S ANNUAL  LAKE OTSEGO WATERFOWL TRIP PLANNED
On Saturday, April 7, 2012 the annual spring waterfowl trip around Lake Otsego and environs will leave from Cooperstown’s Lake Front Docks at the foot of Fair Street at 8 AM sharp. Co-leaders will be Matt Albright, Bob Donnelly and John Davis. Sponsored by the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society for several years, the trip has always attracted many area birders. Cars will be pooled and radio connected, and the trip will last until around noon. For more information, contact John Davis at davi7js4@hughes.net or 607-547-9688.

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge field trip with Delaware-Otsego Audubon

Saturday March 24th – The Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society will have
their annual birding trip to The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge to
view migrating snow geese, ducks and waterfowl.  Participants will
meet at 7:30am at the Dietz Street parking lot across from the YMCA in
Oneonta. Particpants may also be picked up en route through
Cooperstown.  Dress appropriately for weather and pack a lunch.. This

Food and Farms Film Series: Food Stamped, March 7th

Come join us for an evening of thought-provoking entertainment and discussion. Food Stamped follows a couple as they attempt to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet on a food stamp budget. The film explores the question of whether it’s possible to eat healthfully on government food stamps and takes a close look at America’s food system.
