Cooperstown Farmers Market – May 26, SATURDAY, 8-2

L O C A L   T O M A T O E S   brought to you early in the season by the magic of good weather and industrious farmers! Hellers’ Farm estimates harvesting 200 pounds for this market so don’t be shy – it is BLTs for lunch this weekend! Breadfellows will be on hand with a variety of artisanal breads. Or try grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches; Mountain View Dairy has a wide variety of hand-made cheeses for grilling. Or a Greek tomato salad with feta, Painted Goat Farm makes very fine feta. Or how about a tomato brucetta on grilled bread topped with some grated Raindance Sun Cheese, an organic Asiago-style cheese. And there is more…

And you won’t want to forget that this year is the 50th Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta - Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-28, 2012)
Imagine paddling a canoe 70 miles in one day, challenging the elements and testing your endurance levels against the unpredictable Susquehanna River in upstate New York. You have just entered the General Clinton Canoe Regatta! One might enjoy a tomato sandwich during a race like that.

 

The market is full of spring produce, fresh herbs, all cuts of meat and poultry, local glass-bottled milk, cream and butter, baked goods, pastry, bread and new… wine.  We also have cut flowers, bedding plants and veggie starter plants. And gift items for graduation and weddings, come see for yourself.
