WildLearn.com – Environmental Connections through Education
Providing promotion and media services for environmental organizations in Central NY as well as informational materials on topics including Natural History & Wildlife, Conservation & Energy, Ecology, Environmental Issues, Environmental Education, Action, Resources and Area Environmental Events.
Wildlife Learning Company was originally established in 2003 as a full service environmental education business. Since our primary audience had been schools in the Central NY Region, we were especially hard hit with the economic decline that took place beginning in 2008. As the economy declined, so did school budgets in New York State. Unfortunately, environmental education special services are still not considered essential and are typically the first item to be cut from a budget.
At this point in time, we made the decision to diversify our sources of income. Susan was offered and accepted the Exec. Dir. position at the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce while Jeff continued to market and conduct Wildlife Learning Company programs. Over the next few years, as more and more schools discontinued programming due to budget constraints, it became more apparent that we would not be able to continue our services in the area as we had originally hoped, and in 2010, we made the determination to place our education birds in the care of other facilities where they could continue to work to educate about natural history and conservation.
Late in 2011, Susan resigned from the Chamber position and worked with Jeff to evaluate the future of Wildlife Learning Company. With a continued passion for information technologies and a knowledge that small businesses in our region are in dire need of marketing support services, the decision was made to repurpose the existing corporation into one that might be more viable in our current economic climate. In early 2012, Wildlife Learning Company officially became Central NY Mobile Marketing, to provide online and mobile marketing opportunities and services to businesses throughout our region.
We decided at this time to continue to maintain our original website, WildLearn.com, in order to continue to support the environmental community with whom we have been involved since the early 1990′s. It was determined that the site would be used for free online promotion of news from environmental organizations in order to provide another avenue of awareness for the great work that is conducted here in our region.
